For Military Families with Children with Disabilities

As the spouse of a U.S. Air Force service member for 19 years, Amy knows the pride and sense of community that come with military life. She also understands that military service can bring with it a variety of challenges for families, including frequent moves and lengthy, repeated deployments. 

As parents, Amy and her husband, David, have navigated early intervention and special education services in four states and through multiple deployments and TDYs. 

As a parent of children with developmental disabilities, Amy learned firsthand how challenging it can be to ensure that children with disabilities receive the free appropriate public education to which they are entitled under federal law--particularly when having to pick up and move to a new state so soon after a child has finally gotten settled in a school. This is why she became a special education lawyer representing families.
